The WYN Behind It: The Wilde Racer Tri Suit
Introducing the all-new Wilde Racer Tri Suit in collaboration with Olympic medalist and WYN athlete Hayden Wilde
In triathlon, the smallest decisions create the biggest gaps!
A few seconds in transition. A slightly cleaner line through the water. A marginal gain on the bike that turns into a decisive move.
The Wilde Racer Tri Suit was built around exactly that mindset, not just to perform, but to change how a race unfolds.
And this time, the idea didn’t start in our design room. It started with an athlete.
Built From the Front of the Race
This suit was spearheaded by Hayden Wilde, not as a concept, but as a solution.
Racing the T100 Triathlon World Tour, Hayden needed every advantage possible at the highest level of competition!
Not just speed, positioning. Getting to the front group. Getting out of transition first. Controlling the race early.
And that’s where the Wilde Racer Tri Suit began!
The Controversial Choice: No Front Zip
At first glance, the biggest difference is obvious:
There’s no front zipper.
It raised questions immediately. Why remove something so standard?
But for Hayden, the answer was simple:
- Less disruption across the chest
- Cleaner airflow on the bike
- Better hydrodynamics in the water
By eliminating the front zip, the suit creates a smoother, uninterrupted surface, reducing drag where it matters most.
A Faster Way Through Transition
One of the biggest advantages came from an unexpected place: Not needing a swimskin.
In non-wetsuit swims, most athletes layer a swimskin over their tri suit, adding time in transition.
Hayden didn’t. The Wilde Racer was fast enough in the water on its own.
The result:
- Saving ~15–20 seconds in T1
- Exiting with the front group
- Immediate control over the bike dynamics
At the highest level, that’s not a small gain, that’s race-defining.
Proven on the T100 Stage
This wasn’t theory. It was tested in real race scenarios! From Spain to France, Dubai to Doha, Hayden used the suit to:
- Exit the water with leaders
- Move through transition ahead of key competitors
- Attack early on the bike
The suit wasn’t just part of the system, it became part of the strategy.

Aerodynamics Meets Real-World Function
While the silhouette is clean, the performance is layered. The Wilde Racer is constructed using a blend of:
- Waffle fabric for airflow and cooling
- Aerotech fabric for aerodynamic efficiency
- Ocean fabric for durability and flexibility
Every panel serves a purpose, balancing speed with comfort across all three disciplines.
Designed for the Way Athletes Actually Race
Beyond speed, the suit solves real race-day needs:
- Full-length rear zipper → ventilation without disrupting aerodynamics
- Secure side pockets → fuel when you need it
- Dolomiti Grigno 6mm chamois → comfort across long-course efforts
And one detail Hayden emphasized: The fit.
A suit that stays in place, holds close to the body, and allows athletes to:
- Add ice
- Store nutrition
- Move freely
Without compromise.

Athlete-Led Innovation
The Wilde Racer represents something bigger for WYN: Products built with athletes, not just for them.
This isn’t a sponsored name on a kit. This is a suit shaped by real racing demands, refined through feedback, and proven under pressure.
A New Approach to Speed
The Wilde Racer challenges convention:
- No front zip
- No unnecessary layers
- No wasted seconds
Just a singular focus on efficiency, speed, and execution. Because at the front of the race, you don’t just need to be fast, You need to be first!
Built for Those Who Race to WYN
The Wilde Racer Tri Suit isn’t for playing it safe.
It’s for athletes who:
- Want to dictate the race
- Value every second
- And understand that performance is built in the details
This is the next evolution of WYN race-day innovation.
