Welcome to our planet page, keeping you posted on things we are doing to become a more sustainable ally for our planet.

As we navigate the intricacies of becoming an eco-friendly company, we want to include you on our mission to improve and do right by our customers and Mother Earth. We want to be transparent in our efforts to show you progress, not perfection. Please check back on this page throughout the year for updates and next steps.

In 2020, we joined 1% for the planet. 1% for the Planet is an international organization whose members contribute at least one percent of their annual sales to environmental causes. Their mission is to "build, support and activate an alliance of businesses financially committed to creating a healthy planet."

We will update you on our giving and the non-profits we donate to via 1% for the planet. Our focus will be on water, climate, and land.

packaging

WYN republic currently uses custom environmentally-friendly mailer bags that are both made from recycled material and are recyclable, but we can do better. We are making more progress in 2020 by introducing fully-compostable mailers. Once our current supply of recyclable bags runs out (estimated September/October 2020), we will be using only completely compostable, zero-waste mailer bags for all orders that do not require a box.

We currently use recyclable plastic individual garment bags, however, we are exploring packaging solutions including compostable/biodegradable materials for our inner polybags that protect the garments. We are trying to balance the need to deliver a flawless product with a sustainable solution. Compostable bags are typically porous and have a relatively short life-cycle, so we are investigating how these can effectively be used to safely store our delicate garments & deliver them to you in perfect condition.

Look to 2021 for our introduction of cycling and triathlon apparel made from recycled plastic waste products. We are currently testing, testing, testing and hope to bring some pieces to market soon.
